Month: July 2013

July Breakfast

At our most recent meeting, we were fortunate enough to have Jessie Westaway, Senior Industrial Officer with Queensland Working Women’s Service (QWWS) speak to us about the important work that is done to support women in the workplace in matters of discrimination, bullying, unfair dismissal and many other issues.

We were also thrilled to be able to present a cheque to both of our service projects – Queensland Working Women’s Service, and Women’s Legal Service. Zonta Club of Brisbane Breakfast is proud to support such wonderful organisations who make such a big impact in the lives of women who desperately need their services.

Pictured below are Jessie Westaway, representing QWWS, Ayesha Murray our Vice President, and Natalie Davidson, representing WLS.

2013 Birthing Kits – Register Now!

It is time to register!

Registrations are now open for the 2013 Zonta Birthing Kit Assembly Day on

                  Saturday 17th August 2013.

This year we are aiming to assemble 10,000 kits vital to the women in regional areas ofPapua New Guinea and other developing countries.

Each year corporate and community groups and friends pack birthing kits for third world countries.  It is great for bonding, fun and laughter while making a real difference.  Do you remember last year’s event?  See here!

We have already been fortunate to receive the kind assistance from companies and individuals however we seek your support now by donating to this cause as we need to raise additional monies to fund the required materials to enable us to assemble the 10,000 kits.  Please click on this link to our websiteto volunteer or register your donation.

Further details regarding the event such as public transport and parking options or the Preparation Day information will be forwarded closer to the date to those who register.

The success of this special day is driven by the regular sponsorship of so many friends, Zontians and the Brisbane community. To those who have already donated, thank you so much for your continued support.

We look forward to seeing you all again and welcoming new volunteers to this special event.

Thank you
